Where was this TikTok filmed?

Find the place behind a TikTok from what is in the picture. Oceanir reads signs, buildings, roads and terrain, then suggests likely places on a map with the clues for and against each one.

Check a TikTok moment

Have the link instead? Paste it in the Oceanir app and it imports the video for you.

Drop the clip or a frame

Oceanir checks one frame from near the start of a clip. For a different moment, use a screenshot of it.

Try a free location check. Usage limits apply; sign-in may be required. Your photo stays attached.

Choose a moment you can actually check

A moment with more checkable detail beats a good-looking close-up. Scrub through the video and stop where the surroundings are clearest.

A readable sign or shopfront
Pause on the frame where the text is sharpest, even if the shot is less attractive.
Check the wording and the script. A language narrows the country, a business name narrows the street.
A junction or wide street
Keep the road bend, the neighbouring buildings and the horizon in one frame.
Compare the order and spacing of buildings with Street View at the suggested place.
A skyline, coastline or ridge
Choose the wide shot, not the close-up of the subject.
Terrain is a regional clue. Several places can share a similar view, so look for a second feature.
A second moment in the same clip
Scrub a few seconds either side for a landmark that a car or the camera hid.
The surroundings should stay consistent between moments. A cut means it is a different place.

If no moment shows useful surroundings, the clip may stay unresolved. Oceanir says so rather than guessing.

TikTok location questions

How do I find where a TikTok was filmed?

Pick a moment where the surroundings show: a street sign, a junction, a shopfront, a skyline or a coastline. Drop a screen recording or a screenshot of that moment in the box on this page, or paste the TikTok link in the Oceanir app. Oceanir reads the scene and suggests places on a map, with the clues behind each one.

Can I paste a TikTok link?

Yes, in the Oceanir app. Paste the link in the Analyze box and Oceanir imports the video's picture when TikTok allows it, then checks it like any other photo. A free account is required. If the link can't be read, record your screen while the video plays and upload that instead.

Why does it need a clear moment?

A location can only be suggested from what is visible. A close-up of a person, a dark room or a heavily filtered shot gives almost nothing to check. Scrub the video to a moment with a wide view of the street or landscape.

Will it tell me who is in the video?

No. Oceanir answers where a picture was taken, never who is in it. It has no face recognition, and it will not help find a person. Photos that are mostly a person with nothing behind them to place are declined.

Is the answer always right?

No. A suggestion is a lead to check, not proof. Confidence is shown with every answer, low-confidence answers are labelled as such, and similar streets in different cities can look alike. Compare the suggested place with Street View before relying on it.

Is it free?

Free with an account. No card needed. Free checks have monthly limits. Deeper searches on a single photo are available as a one-time purchase.
